Carers Consultation 2018

Carers Consultation 2018

We need your input, thoughts and ideas!

'A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support' Source: Carers Trust

Carers freely give their time and energy to support friends or family members. Caring for others should not be to the detriment of the carer’s own health and wellbeing and carers can receive support in a number of ways – such as Bury Council, the NHS, & the Voluntary, Community & Faith Alliance.

Bury Council and Bury CCG recently consulted with carers and people who support carers to seek their views on the services they have used, their needs, and what provision for carers they would like to see in Bury.

A range of mechanisms was used to allow people a choice of how they could take part; either in written format, electronically using the One Community platform or face-to-face focus groups.

What next:

We will be undertaking a final round of engagement sessions to confirm the themes from the consultation and feedback to date. Bury Council & Bury CCG are open to fresh ideas on how to deliver carers services. We welcome your thoughts on how we shape future carers services in Bury, which will go out to tender.

The engagement sessions are open to carers, providers and organisations supporting carers, as well as anyone who has an understanding of the vital part carers play, in the health and wellbeing of those they care for.

Details of engagement sessions:

If you would like to attend, please book on to your preferred session by

email: engagement@bury.gov.uk or phone: 0161 253 5439 confirming:
