Did you know that Bury has a vision to get 75% of the Bury population moving more by 2025?

One of the easiest ways for most people to increase their physical activity levels and to move more is through walking and if time is an issue or you prefer a faster pace, then cycling maybe more appealing. This might be for recreation or leisure, for example, taking a stroll through the park or a walk in the woods, or cycling along towpaths or trekking along bridleways up into the hills and beyond. Or it could simply be walking or cycling to get to and from places, such as commuting to work, going to the local shops, walking or cycling to school.

To get Bury Moving MORE, we have created a Walking and Cycling Forum; a platform where we invite local residents, businesses, schools, voluntary organisations, faith groups & social enterprises to come together to collaborate by contributing ideas and proposals, addressing barriers and working together with the aim of making walking and cycling opportunities BETTER FOR EVERYONE IN BURY.

BUT!!! In order to make the BIGGEST DIFFERENCE we can in Bury, we need to hear from MORE of our Bury residents, and in particular from those residents who do not currently walk or cycle, or perhaps do a little but would like to do more. We need to understand WHAT IS NEEDED to help and encourage our residents to include more walking and/or cycling activities into their daily lives.

YOU can help us to get moving in the right direction towards achieving our VISION by completing this short survey. The survey should only take 5–10 minutes to complete and it will really help us to establish WHAT walking and cycling activity is already taking place, HOW MUCH people are currently doing (so we can measure change over time and celebrate success) and to identify WHAT OUR RESIDENTS NEED to help them to do more. Thank you!

Please Note: Only residents or those working in Bury should complete this survey.
